Training 21,946 Children on Anti-corruption
Step Up Nigeria launched its Catch Them Young initiative in September 2018. The aim was to build future leaders with integrity through the use of fun and creative tools. In September 2019, Step Up Nigeria embarked on a journey with funding from the MacArthur Foundation to reach 20,000 children with anti-corruption education in 2 years.
3 years after, what started with 2 story books and a few thousand children has expanded to 4 storybooks, 2 comic book series and 2 animated films based off the first 2 books, and 21,946 children reached with anticorruption education across Lagos, Kaduna, Oyo, Nasarawa and the FCT. We have also trained over 250 teachers in schools on creative approaches and techniques to teaching anticorruption to children.
On this podcast, the Step Up Nigeria team from our Lagos, kaduna and Abuja offices speak on the journey to educating 20,000 children on anti-corruption and integrity with stories from the field.
