Abike’s Story – A tale of vote-buying, and the fight for a better future.
Abike’s Story takes us into the life of Abike, a petty trader fighting against the odds to provide for her family. When a political aspirant comes to the market to campaign for votes, she collects money offered to her in exchange for her vote, but soon realises the money is not enough to solve all her problems. Amidst the remnants of broken promises, Abike realizes the true cost of selling her vote, now, she must fight for more than just survival…
Abike’s Story is an eye-opening virtual reality film, raising awareness about the consequences of selling your vote. Prepare to be immersed in a world where choices determine the fate of nations.
This revolutionary virtual reality film seeks to educate viewers about the serious consequences of selling votes, revealing how it negatively impacts public services and the lives of vulnerable communities.
Our initial virtual reality film was a success in highlighting the impact of corruption on education and generating empathy from authorities. This has helped us advocate for anti-corruption education in public schools. With Abike’s Story, our goal is to raise awareness among people from all walks of life, particularly in local communities that bear the brunt of vote-buying’s consequences on public services. We aim to emphasize the significance of voting for better services instead of selling their votes.
