STEP UP NIGERIA APRIL NEWSLETTER

Building bridges to combat corruption through a community of integrity champions, fostering enhanced service delivery in Nigeria…

Hello Stepper!

In April, we reached an impressive milestone as we concluded phase 2 of our Anti-Corruption Education for Social Change project. We celebrated significant achievements during the first two phases, including equipping over 60,000 children, 2,000 teachers, 900 parents, and 3000 schools, amongst other accomplishments.

As we transition to phase 3, we launched new digital resources responding to the growing demand for educational tools that teach integrity. Designed to enhance the accessibility,   engagement, and scalability of ethics education in Nigeria, Africa, and the world, these digitized tools will promote the mainstreaming of anti-corruption education in schools and communities everywhere.

Additionally, in the past month, we released two new podcasts that share valuable insights from our founder’s two decades in the development sector and updates about our tools. Here are the key highlights from April. 🌟🎉

WE LAUNCHED DIGITAL TOOLS FOR INTEGRITY EDUCATION

We took a big step forward in the fight against corruption with the launch of three new anti-corruption education tools and documentary series. We introduced the SUN Learn Mobile App, the Integrity Certification Website, and the Anti-Corruption Superheroes animated series. These tools make it easier for individuals and institutions to learn about integrity anytime, anywhere, and at their own pace. Here’s a quick look at each one:

SUN Learn Mobile App: A One-Stop Shop For Integrity Education

The SUN Learn Mobile App is a one-stop platform that offers easy, on-the-go access to engaging integrity and anti-corruption education for learners of all ages. Be among the first to experience our mobile app when it launches on our 7th anniversary in July by joining the waitlist here – https://mysunapp.xyz/wait/.

Integrity Certification Website: Improving Integrity in Nigeria’s Schools

We launched the Integrity Certification website as a key platform to equip schools across Nigeria to build and sustain a culture of integrity. The website will help schools build a culture of integrity through strengthened academic integrity, admissions integrity, and improved codes of conduct and conflict of interest registers to reduce cheating, favoritism, bribery, and other unethical practices in the school environment. You can sign up for this process by using this link: https://integritycertification.org/

The Anti-Corruption Superheroes (TACS) Comic Series

We launched 2 episodes of the Anti-Corruption Superheroes (TACs) animated series. The short but packed show seeks to raise a new generation of integrity champions through storytelling, with young heroes pioneering a culture of honesty and fairness in schools and communities. The Anti-corruption Superheroes features three young children, Tope, Aminu, and Amaka who together take exemplary action to tackle corruption and uphold integrity. You can be just like them. ACESC Documentary Series

Finally, we launched three powerful episodes of our documentary series spotlighting champions from Phases 1 and 2 of our Anti-Corruption Education for Social Change project. These tracer stories reveal that when young people are consistently engaged with integrity-focused education, the values they learn tend to stick—leading to long-term positive shifts in behaviour. The message is clear: the earlier we start, the greater the impact. You can watch the full playlist, beginning with our “Catch Them Young” initiative, here: https://bit.ly/CYIDOCUMENTARY

EPISODE 97: IS THIS THE FUTURE OF VALUE-BASED EDUCATION?

In our 97th podcast episode titled Tools for Change: Is this the future for value-based education?, we discussed our newly launched integrity education tools: the SUN Mobile app,  the Integrity Certification Website, and the TACS Series. We highlighted the importance and role these new tools will play in upscaling our efforts and extending our reach beyond our direct beneficiaries.
